North Sudan Land Cover Mapping Project 2011

North Sudan land cover mapping project is part of bigger FAO Africover project. This project is implemented by SIFSIA N with backstopping from FAO and in collaboration with Sudan Remote Sensing Authority (RSA), Ministry of Agriculture and Forest National Corporation. The overall objectives of the project are: 1. production of updated land over database for North Sudan, 2. capacity development (using new technologies of object based segmentation and digital mapping, using new classification system LCCS Ver2 and/or Ver3, land cover mapping process, field verification, applications, database development and maintenance).
